Awakened! By PC Cast and Kristin Cast

Hello fellow Book Lovers! Is it me or is this guy one of the hottest men on PC Cast's book cover? And all I needed to see was an arm (lol). Now, I hope you have pre-ordered this book. If not what are you waiting for? Here's a little taste of what you could be missing...

To be released on January 4, 2011.
PhotobucketExonerated by the Vampyre High Council and returned to her position of High Priestess at Tulsa’s House of Night, Neferet has sworn vengeance on Zoey. Dominion over Kalona is only one of the weapons she plans to use against Z. But Zoey has found sanctuary on the Isle of Skye and is being groomed by Queen Sgiach to take over for her there. Being Queen would be cool, wouldn’t it? Why should she return to Tulsa? After losing her human consort, Heath, she will never be the same – and her relationship with her super-hot-warrior, Stark, may never be the same either…

And what about Stevie Rae and Rephaim? The Raven Mocker refuses to be used against Stevie Rae, but what choice does he have when no one in the entire world, including Zoey, would be okay with their relationship? Does he betray his father or his heart?

Don't forget PC and Kristin Cast have the fledgling book guide to all things fledglings. Do you have yet? So tell me about it and leave a comment. Is the fledgling guide everything you thought it would be?

Empty Night Stand (1)

A couple days ago I finished the novel, Fallen by Claire Delacroix and was horrified to see my nightstand empty. I was fresh out of novels to read.  The next day I took a trip to the local Library and picked out 3 books to read for this coming week.

The library is a great place to get a quick fix of good reads and there is no impulse to buy. Also, I love seeing people come in and out, every five minutes it seems. I think it's safe to say the library isn't going out of style despite all the ebook readers that have been purchased(for now).

Anyway, I picked these books according to: Cover, "New book" tag, and unfamiliar authors and I'm looking forward to a great week of fantastic reads.

Photobucket
I closed my eyes, and let the waves seep under my bed, lifting the mattress, floating me away to that secret place I'd never told anyone about. Imagene and Lucy didn't know it, but this trip to Perdida was gonna take us within a whisper of the mystery I'd been wondering about since my last summer on the bayou.

Photobucket
I suppose if I'd known they were going to vanish, I would've said "I love you" and "I miss you". Instead, I left them at the curb and sputtered home in our ancient Volvo wagon, already planning my fall from grace: clubbing until 4:00am, unsupervised shopping sprees, and maybe even a tatoo if I could come up with something good.

When the world's most beautiful woman walks into the room, it's hard to keep from throwing up. At least that's how I felt when I first saw the girl in the doorway. I needed one of those little wax-coated paper bags you find in the back-seat pocket of an airplane; because I knew I was looking at something pretty special.

And All I Needed Were Two Puffy Cushions!

I love books.

I was at Walmart just the other day to pick out some table mats and chair cushions for my new breakfast table I had bought earlier that day. As I neared the shortest line, I happened to pass the book section. Just outside the book section there were two book racks/stands with big bold signs above them advertising "Bargain Books...$1.00".

I completely lost track of where I was going because all I saw were books, books and more books, LOL!!! You know what I'm talking about ;)

Mind you, I didn't have a cart or a basket so I was shifting the big puffy yellow cushions and the mats from one arm to the other, and busying myself with the other...hunting for fantastic books.

The books I bought include: Fallen by Clair Deloacroix and Faceless by Debra Webb. I also bought some baby books for my nephews and a cool Sudoku book for my hubby.

Fallen and Faceless are not YA. Fallen is adult fiction, paranormal and Faceless is romantic suspense. I am really looking forward to Faceless from Debra Webb. I have read a couple of her novels and I have reviewed her book titled, Nameless. So I have high expectations for this one and I feel I will not be disappointed.

My point in all of this is that I spotted a bargain with my very own eagle eyes, lol, and pounced on it like a chip in dip. The deal was too good to pass up and in that I found two great sounding books I am looking forward to reading. I know my fellow reading comrades would be proud of me as I am ;)

Here's a look at the two I purchased.

Deputy district attorney Carson Tanner has dedicated his life to justice. But he is still haunted by one case that was never solved: the murder of his entire family in
cold blood. Back then, the teenage Carson was protected by his girlfriend's influential father, Senator Randolph Drake. But now, fifteen years later, Carson finds himself facing a whole new world when a man confesses to the Tanner killings. His name is John Stokes. And his confession only scratches the surface of the truth.

Carson knows that Annette Baxter uses her brains and beauty as a fixer for the rich and powerful, making their indiscretions disappear in exchange for security and influence. But now someone is using her clients' secrets - and her own - against her. And even though Carson can't ignore his attraction to her, he is dead-set on making Annette pay for her crimes.but what if she holds the key to the burning secret he's spent his whole life seeking?

The Eyes of the Republic are Everywhere.

When her estranged husband's mysterious death is declared an accident, Lilia Desjardins knows that it is a lie. She leaves all she knows to risk the dark heart of the Republic -- only to find that she herself has been targeted by forces unknown.

Adam Montgomery will do anything to complete his earthly mission, even if he has to tangle with the enigmatic Lilia Desjardins. But when his contact is murdered and he must rely on Lilia's silence to save him from the slave dens, Adam knows that his wings were only the first sacrifice required of him.

As danger and intrigue surround them, Lilia and Adam realize that they must work together -- body, mind, and soul -- in order to save the world.

My book bargain adventure was completely unexpected so be sure to keep your eyes open and on the look out for great book bargains.

Happy Hunting!!

Barely a Lady by Eileen Dreyer

Hi everyone! Goodreads is hosting fantastic book giveaways through 2010. I recently won a copy of "Barely a Lady" by Eileen Dreyer from the Goodreads giveaway. I'm so excited to read it. I haven't read anything from Eileen Dreyer and so this is completely new territory for me. Anyway, become a member of Goodreads and enter awesome book giveaways.

On a separate note, I haven't been doing much blogging because I haven't read any new books. Instead I had this itch to return to my book shelf and pick out a book I know and love and truly enjoy reading. So what did I pick you ask?...Well, my pick was the Mercy Thompson series. It's urban fantasy written by Patricia Briggs; she's one of my favorite authors which I've had the honor to meet.

I've recently finished Moon Called, Blood Promise and now I'm reading Iron Kissed, the third book in the series. I decided to re-read these because 1) Mercy Thompson is so kiss ass I love her personality, a true hero 2) I love the budding romance between Mercy and Adam Hauptman, the Alpha Werewolf from the Columbia Basin Wolf Pack and 3) Ever book is a page turner, very satisfying.

I knew I couldn't go wrong with this series. Besides what's the point of buying a book if you don't plan to read it again?

"THERE IS only one way to read a good book -- re-read it. There are books and there are more books. But generally we divide them into two broad categories: those we read and discard, and those we read and re-read."

------------------------------------------------

Barely a Lady (Paperback) is to be release June 29, 2010 and here is a quick bit.

Barely a Lady (The Drake's Rakes series)
Olivia Grace has secrets that could destroy her. One of the greatest of these is the Earl of Gracechurch, who married and divorced her five years earlier. Abandoned and disgraced, Grace has survived those years at the edge of respectability. Then she stumbles over Jack on the battlefield of Waterloo, and he becomes an even more dangerous secret. For not only is he unconscious, he is clad in an enemy uniform.

But worse, when Jack finally wakes in Olivia's care, he can't remember how he came to be on a battlefield in Belgium. In fact, he can remember nothing of the last five years. He thinks he and Olivia are still blissfully together. To keep him from being hanged for a traitor, Olivia must pretend she and Jack are still married.

To unearth the real traitors, Olivia and Jack must unravel the truth hidden within his faulty memory. To save themselves and the friends who have given them sanctuary, they must stand against their enemies, even as they both keep their secrets.

In the end, can they risk everything to help Jack recover his lost memories, even though the truth may destroy them both?

Book Cover To Vampire Acadamy's 6th book, Last Sacrifice, has arrived!!

Finally! It's here, the cover to Richelle Mead's 6th and final book from the Vampire Academy Series.

Photobucket

Release date is December 7, 2010!!! (Note, RM's website said Dec. 14, but recently read book release was moved up a week.)

This book better end up tying all the lose ends in Dimitri and Rose's relationship; I have super high hopes for D and R. At the moment, I am sooo traumatized because of Spirit Bound :)

As for any spin-offs, I predict Adrian will have his own or at least be a big player in the next series because he has grown up so much in Spirit Bound and is such a lovable character, everyone wants him to be happy, just not with Rose. That's Dimitri's territory.

As for who Adrian ends up with, it will have to be in the next series assuming Richelle Mead isn't taking the 6th's book title literally. I mean that Rose better not even sacrifice her true love for Dimitri(who's in the middle of pity party) to be with Adrian, who is so loving and understanding, no offense to Team Adrian fans out there. I would not be able to comprehend that ending if it happens (crossing fingers). Nevertheless, as devoted fans of Vampire Academy, we would need closure for Adrian because he is such a big character, he'd have to appear in the next series.

I am so happy and very surprised that I only have to wait 5 months before Last Sacrifice hits stores. Isn't it usually a year before the next book comes out? It feels like that anyway when playing the waiting game for the next book.

MOVIE ALERT!!! Beautiful Creatures Series to Become a Movie!

PhotobucketPhotobucket
It has come to my attention that Warner Bros. has bought the movie rights to Beautiful Creatures, authored by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.

Warner Bros. is behind the smash hit series, Harry Potter, and is hoping Harry Potter fans will find solace in Beautiful Creatures, which will be a five novel YA series.

The script will be written and directed by Richard LaGravenese who wrote "P.S. I Love You."

For those of you who aren't familiar with the story, here is the book trailer of Beautiful Creatures to give you a quick look.

I'm not sure if Beautiful Creatures is the right movie to fill in Harry Potters Shoes, I'm super bias because I am still crossing my fingers that Vampire Academy will get picked up for a movie deal or even Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. Both of these had great reviews and there are legions of fans all over the world. These book series would be great for adaptations to the big screen because they have world class appeal. Of course, this doesn't mean I won't support Beautiful Creatures. I read the book and I liked it but when I compare it to others, I know other books series would make better movies and not just for the sake of filling a financial gap like Warner Bros. is hoping for.

Nevertheless, I am waiting patiently for Beautiful Darkness, the sequel to Beautiful Creatures. And I am super happy for Kami Garcia's and Margaret Stohl's super success for the books alone. Still have to wait and see about the movie ;) I'll keep my eyes and ears open for a movie release date so stay tuned.

So naturally, after this mega news flash, I have to ask you:

1. What do you think about the Beautiful Creatures adaptation to the big screen? And do you plan to see it?

2. What other books series do you want to see on the big screen?

Think about it and get back to me because I have a whole list of books I would love to see as movies and I believe would do well.

Patricia Briggs!!

WOW Patricia Briggs may be one of the nicest most down to earth people ever! Not to mention an amazing author!! Tonight was so much fun, Karina and I started the night with an appetizer at the local mexican food joint, then we scooted over to Barnes and Noble. In good old Elizabeth fashion I didn't get out for under 70 bucks...BUT one of those books will be one of our lucky followers..details to come but the authographed book that Patricia Briggs is holding in the picture below will belong to someone, we just have to work out the details of the competition!! We met some amazing fans and had good times, and a couple hours of good ol' book talk. It's so amazing when you get a bunch of people together who just LOVE books! All in all it was an amazing night, and we are looking forward to hopefully be able to do a author spotlight with Patrica soon!!

I am totally gushing over one of my favorite authors, Patricia Briggs. Like Elizabeth pointed out, she must be one of the coolest, down to earth authors out there. I remember beginning to feel very nervous and excited when the crowd was told she was in the building. Being a nervous goofball that I am, I was like, "what do we do? clap? holler?" The wonderful ladies that we had met earlier agreed to make some noise including the rest of the crowd. It was especially great when Patricia Briggs made time to add to comments/questions Elizabeth and I had for her.

Awesome, great, excited, nervous experience and I wouldn't change a think about it.

Thank you, Patricia Briggs for a wonderful urban fantasy series. It was a real treat to me you and we can't wait to read Mercy Thompson's next adventure.

And silver Borne was a true knockout! Keep them coming ;)

Preview: Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick

This is the cover of Becca Fitzpatrick's sequel to Hush, Hush; released April 10, 2010.

Photobucket

The lightening in the background was Becca's idea and which by the way is a great addition to the cover.

Here is a little synopsis from amazon.

Nora should have know her life was far from perfect. Despite starting a relationship with her guardian angel, Patch (who, title aside, can be described anything but angelic), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking up. Patch is starting to pull away and Nora can't figure out if it's for her best interest or if his interest has shifted to her arch-enemy Marcie Millar. Not to mention that Nora is haunted by images of her father and she becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened to him that night he left for Portland and never came home.

The farther Nora delves into the mystery of her father's death, the more she comes to question if her Nephilim blood line has something to do with it as well as why she seems to be in danger more than the average girl. Since Patch isn't answering her questions and seems to be standing in her way, she has to start finding the answers on her own. Relying too heavily on the fact that she has a guardian angel puts Nora at risk again and again. But can she really count on Patch or is he hiding secrets darker than she can even imagine?

For those of you who are still thinking about maybe reading Hush, Hush, I'd say you better get to it because it is not only a brilliant paranormal YA story but you will fall in love with at least one character if not, all of them. My one wish, if I had only one, with out dealing with a genie, it would be to have Hush, Hush made into a movie. If they can do movies with werewolves and vampires, I know the studios can drum up a couple of angelic wings, right?

To all of the Book Lovers Delight followers, thanks so much for your patience. Elizabeth and I have been focused on a few life changing "situations" and we are super excited about them. I promise you we will get back into blogging our awesome reads to share with all of you.

We'd also would like to hear from you; what you have been reading lately and what you have on your nightstand at this moment you just can't wait to read.

Nicholas Sparks Movies Exciting!

So I was really suprised that already, another Nicholas Spark's book is hitting the theater...I am still DYING to see Dear John. I adored the book and I have to say..Channing Tatum..is pretty amazing to look at! I haven't heard great things about the movie, but I like to see for myself =)

The Last Song, I have to say I am VERY superised that Miley Cyrus was playing the lead. But the girl has a voice, and I am hoping she is as good at acting! I haven't read the whole book, but I do know what I have read I enjoyed..I guess I am going to have to finish it pretty quickly, I believe this hits theaters later this month, and I am pumped to see it!

Are you guys as big of a Nicholas Spark fan as I am?! Let me know what you guys think about these movies!!!
